Horse Riding São Miguel
Mostly Lusitanians and Portuguese Crusaders, the horses gallop through the islands from the beginning of their settlement, allowing the man to travel long distances by reticent and unusual accesses.
The presence of this magnificent animal in the Azorean tradition is celebrated annually in the Cavalhadas de São Pedro, in São Miguel. Horseback riding can be done all year round on most of the islands, with different programs for everyone, from the most inexperienced to knights of the heart.
